How to become famous on Instagram
Social networks excite you and, in particular, you appreciate the possibility of being able to post photos on Instagram because you have a real passion for smartphone photography. You frequently post photos within the platform but, despite the enthusiastic comments from your followers, you feel that you have not yet achieved the popularity you want and therefore you too are wondering how to make the leap in quality and become famous on Instagram?
Know that it is possible, it will just take a little more effort. Clearly keep in mind that there is no real magic formula that will lead you to success; Instead, there are guidelines that you can use to get noticed within the platform.
All you have to do, in order to be able to follow the instructions that I will give you in this guide of mine, is to take a few minutes of free time to carefully read the following lines. What I will give you will be general advice that you can put into practice even if you feel that you do not yet consider yourself a true Instagram expert. Are you ready to get started? Yup? Very well! As usual, I want to wish you a good read.
Identify the type of content to publish
If you want to become famous on Instagram, you have to commit yourself. The publication of images is not enough, you must try to build your identity on the social network owned by Facebook and be clear about the type of content and the public type you want to address.
Before proceeding, therefore, try to establish the type of content you want to publish. Do you love to travel? Take photos while on the go, but try to stand out from the majority of Instagram users posting photos of their travels. Just to give you an example; very often travelers who share photos on Instagram post photos of landscapes, you could post photos of the inhabitants of the places you visit, thus documenting different cultures.
Do you love cooking? Take pictures of foods that stand out for their particularity, in order to stand out in the category of the most common food bloggers on Instagram. These are just a few examples that came to mind: the gist of it is that you have to put your creativity into practice to be as original as possible. Once you’ve found your industry, focus on it and always post themed photos. Do you know what they say? “don’t change a winning team”.
If you have a creative block (don’t worry, it happens to everyone) and you don’t know what kind of content you could post to stand out with your originality, you can take the time to take a look at the content posted by the most famous Instagram users. Look at the photos they publish and look for the right inspiration for publishing your photos on the social network.
Don’t forget to make a schedule for the content to be published. Be active within the social network and try to post a photo at least once a day. At the time of writing, Instagram doesn’t allow you to schedule content publishing, but when you have some free time you can create post drafts that remain in your device’s memory, to be published later.
Make content that stands out
Since Instagram is a social network based on visual content, to become famous within the platform you will need to publish content of high aesthetic quality.
If you have a passion for photography, you are certainly well under way: work on the photos you take to improve their quality. It focuses on bright high-definition images that amaze the audience with their beauty.
In this regard, one of the best tips I can give you is about publishing content that is always characterized by the same style. For example, you can edit the photos before publishing them and make a color correction that is always the same.
By doing this, your images will be easily recognizable everywhere and will stand out when posted on your Instagram profile.
If you are still not sure what kind of content to publish and what aesthetic imprint to give it, try to involve your audience: publish test contents that are different from each other and ask the opinion of your followers; I’m sure they will appreciate being involved.
Do not rush your creativity and take all the time necessary to create a style of photos that is unique and that represents you: the ultimate goal is to publish photos that, at a glance, have a distinctive presence; this will be your signature.
Apply filters to photos
If you love photography but are a beginner with photo editing and don’t know how to make a colour correction with professional software, you don’t have to give up on publishing creative images.
Instagram integrates a basic photo editing tool that you can use to enhance your photos. Furthermore, Instagram filters are not to be underestimated at all; tools that have made the fortune of this social network and that will allow you to apply a unique style to photos. You can then practice with these tools and then move on to editing photos with advanced paid software.
Also keep in mind that the filters are used by many users and that, according to some surveys, the ones that are most appreciated by the public are the Earlybird, X-Proll, Hefe, Rise, Valencia, Amaro, Brannan, Lomo-fi, Hudson filters.
If you want to know more about how to use the filters and basic photo editing tools, I recommend reading my guide dedicated to the functioning of the social network.
Use hashtags correctly
Instagram is a photographic social network but, in order for the published photos to be seen by a greater number of people, it is necessary to make a correct use of hashtags.
If you are not well informed on the matter, you should know that hashtags are nothing more than clickable labels that allow you to categorize your images.
Using hashtags on Instagram is essential, since this allows you to categorize images and make them appear in the search results of the social network. In fact, people very often do research on Instagram starting from hashtags. Consequently, if the photo you shared does not have any hashtags, no one else, apart from your followers or more generally the people who visit your profile, will be able to find the content you have published.
On Instagram, it is possible to insert up to 30 hashtags in the description. You don’t have to use them all; the important thing is to insert hashtags related to the shared photo. Not sure which hashtags to use? Do not worry. There are several tools that allow you to identify the hashtags to use based on the published image.
Interact with the community
On Instagram, it’s not just you. If you want to become famous on this photo sharing platform, you need to get noticed by other users of the social network. Interaction with other people is essential, so don’t forget to also take a look at the profiles of other users.
I don’t know if you noticed, but on Instagram users seem to be “shy”: many put “like”, but there are not many who comment. To become popular on Instagram reverse this trend and start interacting with the social network community.
Be spontaneous and don’t comment only using emojis: write a textual comment that is sincere, in case of appreciation. A constructive comment is also fine if you have to criticize a posted photo.
Follow the profiles of the people you are interested in and send them a private message to thank them if they follow you back. Interaction with the community is the key to success: in this way, you will not be just an account that publishes photos but a person with real interests and passions.
You can also take advantage of Instagram’s advanced tools like Stories and Live Streaming to make videos where you show yourself firsthand. Tell about your passions in live streaming as if these were a sort of “behind the scenes” to the publication of the photos on Instagram; you will see that people will appreciate your spontaneity and naturalness.
In particular, I think Live streaming is definitely the best tool to use if you want to become famous on Instagram. I say this because, following the introduction of a new feature, Instagram allows you to create a live broadcast with your follower. Inviting a viewer to personally participate in your live stream is in my opinion a great way to interact with your community.

Publish photos also on Facebook
Do your Facebook friends know about your passion for photography but don’t have an Instagram account through which they can view your photos? Don’t worry, you can fix it very easily by posting Instagram photos on Facebook as well.
Doing it is really simple: in the following lines, I’ll explain how to do it. The first thing you need to do is link your Instagram account to your Facebook profile. To do this, click on the little man symbol at the bottom right. Then tap the button with the gear symbol that you can see at the top right, and look for the Settings section. Then tap on Connected accounts: at this point select Facebook from the list of available social networks.
Then connect your Facebook account so that the publication of Instagram contents can also take place on Facebook. However, sharing will have to be manually authorized for each image you upload to Instagram: to do this, you will only have to move the lever corresponding to the Facebook entry that you will find in the posting screen of a photo on Instagram from OFF to ON.
In this way, the photo will also be published on your Facebook profile and you will be able to reach a greater audience.
