First, I will tell you about banner ads, showing you the detailed procedure to sign up on Google AdSense (one of the most popular and convenient online advertising systems) and create your first ads, after which I will also tell you how to monetize with affiliations, focusing mainly on the Amazon program, which allows you to receive commissions on products sold through your links. Make money with a website with banner ads

The first solution that I would like to recommend to you to make money with a website is to rely on banner ads. Keep in mind, however, that the latter allows you to monetize if your website has a decent following: if your blog is just born or, for the moment, does not have a good base of daily visits, before inserting advertising banners and think about the income, I suggest you continue to work on the content and improve your site.

Google Adsense

The best service to start earning is Google AdSense, the Google advertising circuit. The latter does not require minimum requirements in terms of views and allows anyone to create advertising banners, place them on their website and start monetizing easily.

To create your account on Google AdSense, connected to the main page of the service and, if you haven’t already done so, click on the Sign in button to log in with your Google account. Then choose the account with which to register, enter the password in the appropriate field and click on the Login button.

Now, click on Register now, enter the required data in the URL of your site and Email address fields, put the checkmark next to one of the options available between Yes, I want to receive the personalized guide and performance suggestions and No, I do not I would like to receive personalized guidance and performance tips to indicate whether or not to receive emails from Google AdSense and click the Save and Continue button.

In the new page opened, select your country of residence (e.g. United States of America) using the drop-down menu in the Select the country or area box, put the checkmark next to the option Yes, I have read and accept the agreement and click the Create Account button. Then press the Start button and, in the Payments address screen, enter the required data in the Account type (Private or Company), Name, Address, Postal code, City and Province fields and press the Send button.

Verify, therefore, your identity by entering your phone number in the appropriate field and choosing one of the verification options between Text message (SMS) and Voice call. Made your choice, click on the item Generate verification code, enter the verification code received in the appropriate field and click on the Send button to verify your identity and complete the registration.

Now you need to link your website to the newly created AdSense account. To do this, click on the Copy code button on the Link your site to AdSense page, enter the code generated on your website, put the checkmark next to the option I have pasted the code on my site and click on the Finish button. It will be useful to know that it may take a few days for the connection to be successful.

Once you have completed the creation of your account and the connection with your website, you are ready to create your first advertising banners. Then select the item Ads in the left sidebar, click on the Ad units option and press the New ad unit button. In the new screen displayed, click on the Select item relating to the select Text and display ads box, enter the name to be attributed to the advertising banner in the Name field and set its display by clicking on the item Recommended option. My advice is to leave Recommended option to create banners that automatically adapt to any type of screen.

Once you have finished customizing the advertising banner, click the Save and get code button, copy the code shown in the Ad Code field and paste it on the pages of the site where you want the banner to be displayed.

While there are no limitations in the creation of banners, you should know that it is not recommended to fill your website with advertisements. In addition, the latter must be in a prominent position for them to generate a profit: it makes no sense to place an ad at the bottom of your site.

Furthermore, you can add one or more advertising banners in the sidebar of your website by clicking on the Appearance and Widget items and dragging the AdControl Widget box to the section of your interest.

You must know that with WordAds it is not possible to monitor the progress of individual banners. In addition, earnings are only visible monthly and payments are made upon reaching $ 100.

Direct sale of advertising space

If your website is performing well in terms of views or has a good reputation in a particular niche, you can opt for direct selling of advertising space as well. By doing so, the interested parties will be able to contact you and make arrangements privately, without any intermediary.

To try to sell your advertising space, I suggest you create a page dedicated to advertising in which to insert any quotes, basic information and your contact details. To give greater prominence to this option, you can also place ads in the positions you intend to dedicate to advertising which, when clicked, refer to the page dedicated to advertising information.

Make money with a website with affiliations

Affiliations are another great way to make money with your website. If you’ve never heard of them, affiliate programs allow you to insert banners and advertising links that refer to products and services for sale on specialized sites: every sale coming from your webspace is “rewarded” with a commission that varies depending on the product sold.

Among the most used affiliate programs there is certainly that of Amazon. In fact, on the famous online shopping site, it is possible to find thousands of products and, consequently, suitable to be offered on any type of website.

To create your account as an Amazon affiliate, connected to the main page of the service, press the button Sign up now for free and, in the new open page, enter the access data to your Amazon account in the E-mail address or mobile number fields and Password. If, on the other hand, you have never registered on the famous online shopping site.

After logging in with your account, answer the question Who should we send payments to? Who is the primary contact for this account? For purposes of US tax law, do you declare that you are a US citizen? choosing one of the available options and presses the Next button.

In the new open page, enter the URL of your site in the Enter your website field and click on the Add and Next buttons, then enter the required data in the Profile and Traffic and monetization sections, verify your identity by entering the code shown on the video in the appropriate field, put the checkmark next to the Accept Terms and Conditions option relating to the Operating Agreement of the Affiliate Program and press the Complete your registration button.

Now, click on the item Create product links in the top menu and choose one of the available options: Product link to create a link to a specific product on sale on Amazon; Banner to choose one of the ready-to-use banners provided by Amazon or Link to any page on Amazon.com to create a link to a specific page of the Amazon site (eg a product category). Once you have made your choice and created the banner or link of your interest, copy the HTML code shown on the video and insert it on the page or section of your website where you want to display the products.

You can monitor your earnings at any time by clicking on the Home item in the top menu. In the Summary box for this month you can see the number of clicks that your website visitors have made on the Amazon banners, the number of items ordered the number of items shipped and the total earnings of the last 30 days.
