Whether you are selling on a small site or starting an online store, customer service comes first. We recommend that you get as much positive feedback as possible and create a good image for yourself. Respond to questions, requests and complaints. Offer a guarantee if available.

How Amazon’s FBA program works, and why you need to use it
The program name is fixed by Amazon in the FBA. While it’s designed for sellers with a high sales inventory (with shipping and customer support handled entirely by Amazon), you can also use it to your advantage.
The main advantage of using the FBA program is convenience, which is basically the dump of your items:
“Put them in a box, describe to Amazon what’s inside that box, print a shipping label, and schedule a pickup request.”
The process typically takes an hour or two, unless you have more items than you can possibly sell, and if you already have a mailbox so you don’t even need to leave your home for shipping.
When Amazon receives the box, it sends all of your items for sale on its product pages and users will be able to buy them.
Amazon will ship the items for you in their packaging and handle any customer issues that may arise in the aftermarket.
For these services you pay a small storage fee, $ 1 for shipping costs (the commission will be paid on the Amazon account).
While this service is truly phenomenal, there are some downsides:
Not good for low-cost items, like used books or DVDs (nobody wants them anymore). Basically, if your item can’t sell for more than $ 4, you won’t be able to use this service. As you add items to your inventory, Amazon will tell you if it will take delivery of your item.
Okay, sold! Now How do I get started?
Before starting the sale, you need to do the following:
- Assuming you already have an Amazon account, sign up for an Amazon seller account. Just click on the seller option;
- Add FBA to your seller account.
You are now ready to start. How to list your articles with FBA
Whenever you use FBA, you have to manage your inventory. It is recommended to send Amazon a single list of items, this is the easiest way to manage an efficient dialogue with Amazon.
This method allows Amazon employees who open the box to easily find the items you have listed.
Just follow these steps to create your “box” and your inventory:
- Log in to the Amazon Seller area and hover your mouse over the inventory menu. Choose “Add an advertisement”;
- Enter the name of the product you want to sell and click Search. (Alternatively, you can enter its UPC, EAN, ISBN, or ASIN if you know it);
- When your choices are displayed, select the correct one by clicking on the “Sell your items” button;
- The next page seems a little more complicated, but the only things you need to fill in are the condition, the price and the quantity. If it’s not already selected, you’ll also need to tell Amazon if this is an FBA item;
- You can then enter the option “I want Amazon to ship my sold items”. When you are done, click on Save and on Finish;
- If you are a new seller, Amazon will likely present you a page asking you to accept the terms of liability regarding what you are selling: dangerous, prohibited by law, living, capable of killing someone, and so on. At this point click on the “Send” inventory button and go ahead;
- Amazon will use your address to find the nearest property. In the next step, you will be asked to name your shipment. FBA will automatically provide you with a generic name, which you can keep if you wish or change it to something more interesting (eg “Magic Pony Surprise”). Once the name has been created, click Save and Continue.
How to ship
- After adding the last item in the box, you can click on the “Shipping” button to start the shipping process. Click Save and Continue;
- You will be taken to the labelling page where you can print the labels for all your items. Do it, attach the label for your articles, and click, Save and Continue;
- Now choose the size of your shipment and the carrier you want to use. You can choose another carrier and ship everything yourself, save and continue;
- It’s packing time. Choose the number of the transport document you want to print, on the next page, enter the dimensions and its weight;
- If it is not possible to measure the exact weight, you can give a weight by estimation and by rounding. Click the Save and Continue button;
- Click on the cost calculation button;
- The resulting page will give you an estimate of the shipping charge. Click on “Accept Expenses & Continue”;
- Print the label, stick it on the box according to the instructions, and plan a pick-up with the carrier.
Once Amazon receives your shipments and sells your items, you will be able to transfer the money from your account to your regular account.
